Michael Glawogger | Masterclass | 2008
Austrian filmmaker Michael Glawogger travelled the world for his documentaries which look closely at globalisation and it’s resonance.
In this masterclass Glawogger tells us how to make the film alive, choose collaborators wisely, and fight for the truth of what you see. Less interested in the craft of filmmaking, Glawogger emphasises the importance of relationships with people and how filmmaking needs just the same amount of effort as making friends.
From 1981 to 1982 Glawogger studied at the San Francisco Art Institute, and from 1983 to 1989 at the Vienna Film Academy. He is most well known for his 2005 masterpiece Workingman’s Death, cultural portrait Megacities (1998), and stylish documentary triptych Whore’s Glory (2011).
