Having screened in competition at the Edinburgh International Film Festival following its World Premiere at the International Film Festival in Rotterdam, NORFOLK will be released in selected UK cinemas on 21 September 2016. The film will premiere at the Norwich Cinema City with a Q&A with filmmakers, followed by Q&A screenings across the UK.
NORFOLK, the second feature from BAFTA-nominated writer/director Martin Radich (Crack Willow), is produced by SDI’s own Finlay Pretsell (Pablo’s Winter, Cutting Loose and Ma Bar) and Rachel Dargavel (45 Years, Song for Marion, Weekend) of Crybaby. The film marks both Rachel and Finlay’s first lead producer credit as well as being SDI’s first foray in to fiction filmmaking.
Set in Norfolk, the drama is a haunting thriller about a reclusive father and son whose close relationship is threatened when the father’s violent past catches up with them.
Boasting an exciting European cast, the film stars Denis Ménochet (Assassin’s Creed, Inglourious Basterds, Robin Hood), Barry Keoghan (Dunkirk, Trespass Against Us, ’71), Eileen Davies (High-Rise, Sightseers, Another Year), Sean Buckley (The Fifth Element, Les Misérables) and newcomer Goda Letkauskaite.
Following its premiere in Norfolk, the film will screen in cinemas across the UK, coming to Glasgow Film Theatre on 4th October and Edinburgh Filmhouse on 5th October. Prior to the Edinburgh screening there will be a Masterclass with Martin at Screen Academy Scotland. More details about these events and all UK screenings can be found at the Norfolk website.
